The following is a summary from Rev. Scott Deneen’s 14 July 2024 teaching drawn from 1 Corinthians 9:16-27.  The sermon focuses on the apostle Paul's approach to ministry and preaching the gospel. Paul emphasizes the importance of offering the gospel free of charge and his dedication to sharing the message of Jesus Christ. He highlights the significance of serving others and adapting to different cultures to effectively communicate the gospel. The sermon also discusses the disciplined and purposeful approach to living a godly life. Overall, the sermon emphasizes the selfless and dedicated nature of apostolic ministry and the importance of sharing the gospel with others.

Sermon Excerpt From “Free from All, Servant to All”: But you and I, brothers and sisters, Paul is saying, you and I need to be as diligent in our spiritual lives and discipline as those who are working for, working for a perishable reward, when what we're working for is an imperishable one that will never fade or go away, that cannot be stolen from us. And so Paul says, I discipline my own body. It doesn't mean that he's whipping himself. He's not doing penance. He's not out doing spiritual push ups.
