The following is a summary from Rev. Scott Deneen’s 28 July 2024 teaching “Examples for Us, Part 2” drawn from 1 Corinthians 10:1-13.  This sermon emphasizes the concept of grace and the importance of genuine faith and obedience. Rev Deneen discusses the idea of "once saved, always saved" and warns against complacency in faith. The sermon draws parallels between the ancient people of God and the readers, highlighting the need for faithful obedience. It also addresses the temptations and the assurance of God's faithfulness in providing a way out. The overall message encourages a return to genuine faith and a reliance on God's grace for forgiveness and renewal.

Sermon Excerpt From “Examples for Us, Part 2” drawn from 1 Corinthians 10:1-13: What does a mature Christian look like and live like and think like in the kingdom of God? What about love and joy and peace and kindness and faithfulness and self-control and gentleness and all the fruits of the spirit and caring about the Lord and having a holy fear of God in which the worst thing that I could possibly do is to disappoint him because he loves me so tenderly, or to cause my brother or my sister to trip and stumble into sin because of my use of freedom. I should have confidence in God.
